Hallowell explained that “I would have fought [and] prayed, of course. But I probably would have hit a wall much sooner of, ‘Well, this is just what’s going to happen. This is what God has for me. I’m going to die right now.’”

Hallowell’s perspective is now “very different,” following his investigation. Hallowell said that just because he might never personally experience a miracle, “I would want to believe [it’s possible] until that very minute and fight because that’s what every person in this film did.”

“There was this element of not giving up that really inspired my faith,” he added, “and made me think differently about how much I’m willing to believe God for things.”

ChurchLeaders asked Hallowell what advice he’d give to the church after completing his investigation. “First off,” he said, “I think it’s really smart for every Christian, no matter where they stand on miracles, to be more discerning in terms of we don’t want to just believe everything that comes across in front of our face.”

Hallowell said that he’s not even telling Christians to “believe all the stories” that are in the film. “We provide evidence for the supernatural that’s hard to ignore. So I think it’s actually good that people have some caution,” he said.

“[But] I think, though we have to look at Scripture,” Hallowell continued. “And I know there’s obviously again a huge debate about this. Where is this magical point where the miracles turned off? Where is this point where the God who never changes suddenly made a decision that he’s no longer going to show up in these ways?”

Hallowell shared that he hopes this film will encourage everyone, but especially those who believe that miracles have ceased in this age, to have “an open heart and mind and actually pray about” this topic. Hallowell said, “I think we talk about this topic without actually praying for the guidance that we need to maybe understand what might be happening today.”
