Monk described the EA team’s rejection of the Firefly report as a “gut punch.” Speaking to The Roys Report, she said, “What hurt the most was seeing how [the EA team] decided that they didn’t like the wording of the ‘sexually abusive misconduct’ when it came to me. That’s why victims don’t come forward, because those [who] are supposed to be helping and protecting and counseling, they just don’t care.”
Nancy Brown Addresses ‘Vile’ Accusations Against Husband
Neither Brown nor TLOF’s board has commented on the EA team’s statement. But on April 29, Nancy Brown posted a lengthy statement on the TLOF website defending her husband. “Mike has been accused of some of the most vile things, and the way he has been portrayed on social media is absolutely sickening,” she wrote.
Although Nancy Brown said her husband “formed an emotional tie” with a married woman for a “very short period” and during a very stressful time in his life, “we are not talking here of physical adultery.” Michael’s behavior with Monk was “certainly foolish and irresponsible,” she admitted, but “his intentions were completely innocent with absolutely no malintent. He viewed [Monk] as…a daughter” (italics in the original).
Nancy Brown rejected claims that Michael had “EVER exploited a single human being for his own personal gain or ego.” She also refuted claims that her husband had never repented, saying she was a witness to that.
Dealing with accusations that are “100% fiction” has been “a burden of unbearable weight” for her and her family, wrote Nancy Brown. She said she hopes God will “somehow sort all this out on behalf of His people—and for the sake of GENUINE justice.”
