His family has received numerous messages from people sharing how the LeRettes’ story has helped them. In one instance, a mother and daughter, who had not been on speaking terms, went and saw “The Unbreakable Boy” together and left the theater crying “arm in arm” because the film helped them reconcile.
As he discussed how he rediscovered his faith in Jesus after walking away from the church during college, LeRette gave credit to his wife for pointing him in the right direction.
“I’m always ‘glass half full,’ but I needed more than a glass half full attitude,” LeRette said. “I needed my faith to continue to get stronger, and those people that love me really opened my eyes to be able to do that.”
