Last Thursday, Lionsgate announced that it is officially partnering with Gibson to bring “The Resurrection of the Christ” to theaters. Gibson told Deckelmeier that executives at Lionsgate picked it up after the script brought tears to their eyes.

Gibson said that the film doesn’t have a release date yet but that he was headed to Rome after the expo to start work on the “The Resurrection of the Christ.”
“I am scared s**tless. I have to tell you: I’m scared to death,” Gibson shared as he described the pressure he feels starting this project. “I think if you’re not afraid of something like that, there’s something wrong. I have to do a really good job.”
