Detractors criticized Kershaw’s fashion choice at the Dodgers’ 12th annual Pride Night. Someone claimed the pitcher was “desperate for attention.”
Another person posted, “Clayton Kershaw will always be a Dodger great, but it’s things like this that make him a lot less likable. Just wear the hat. Be a tolerant Christian and accept that there are others who believe differently than you.”
Kershaw, a Dallas native, was confirmed as a Methodist in middle school. Through their foundation, Kershaw’s Challenge, he and his wife serve “vulnerable and at-risk children living in Los Angeles, Dallas, Zambia and the Dominican Republic.”
