Donnie asked for prayer for the family, saying he was “so thankful that all of the kids were able to be around his bed this morning. And we grieve and we sorrow, but we know he’s in a better place, and so on that part we rejoice.”
Donnie said there will be announcements later about a celebration of life service. “My dad was a warrior,” he said. “My dad was a preacher. He didn’t want to be anything else except a preacher of the gospel.”

“Please keep us in prayer, the family, especially mother,” Donnie requested. “The last two weeks have been—well hard doesn’t even, it’s not even the right word—but yet now, it’s going to be even harder.”
As he concluded, Donnie pondered his father’s ministry and habit of prayer, particularly for those in Swaggart’s ministry. “And he would just go on and on as he would implore the Lord on your behalf. And so I want you to know that.”
“Let’s make this Bible-thon the greatest in Dad’s history,” Donnie said. “Thank you so much. We love you. God bless.”
