During the game, Judge played with a bat that featured the name of his daughter and a reference to 2 Corinthians 5:7, which says, “For we live by faith, not by sight.”
In 2022, Judge hit 62 home runs, breaking the single-season record set by Roger Maris in 1961.
“What a night,” Judge said after breaking the record. “Such a blessing from God to share that moment with so many special people!”
Judge went on to be named the league MVP that year. The Yankees advanced to the American League Championship in the playoffs but ultimately lost to the Houston Astros.
