Coach Prime on Making a Will: ‘I Want To Be a Good Steward’
Sanders, who turns 58 in August, also shared that he recently made a will. “That’s not easy at all, to think that you might not be there,” he said in a video from May 9 that was uploaded to YouTube July 27. Shown sitting on an exam table, the coach said, “I don’t know if I’m ready mentally, emotionally” for what he was facing.
Commenting on the will Monday, Sanders explained, “I want to be a good steward for my kids and for my family.” The coach, who often jokes about which of his five children is currently his favorite, smiled while saying he “ranked” his kids while writing his will.
At his press conference, Sanders said former NFL star Randy Moss “called me every other day to check on me” and “prayed for me every day.” Moss recently took leave from his ESPN job while battling bile duct cancer.
On social media, family and friends are praising God for Sanders’ recovery. “Thank you GOD,” wrote son Shedeur Sanders, now a Cleveland Browns rookie.
Basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson posted, “I’m happy to hear that my friend Deion Sanders has been cleared of cancer. I’ll be praying that God continues to bless him with good health and lifelong prosperity!”
On July 26, Deion Sanders posted, “GOD IS INCREDIBLE! Lord thank u.”
