Wesley Huff: ‘Be an Active Part of Your Local Church’

In his life-update video, Wesley Huff shared that his role at Apologetics Canada, which he called “a dream job,” is changing. Soon he’ll become the organization’s vice president—“an exciting opportunity that will allow my work to only increase.”

Huff also continues to film content for Apologetics Canada’s “Can I Trust the Bible?” series. It’s “mind-blowing” how many viewers have seen the first two episodes, he said.

While wrapping up his video, Huff said his daughter had “another medical emergency” last week, with another hospital stay, more tests, and “more worry and unanswered questions.” The diagnosis remains unclear, he said, but people continue to support his family. Huff is certain “that God is in control and that none of this is possible outside of [God’s] clear direction and planning.”

Through that personal example, Huff urged people to “be an active part of your local church.” He said:

God created humanity to be in community with one another. And we are not created to be alone. Christ loved and gave his life up for his church. If you love Jesus, it is vitally important that you love what Jesus loves. And that love can be a tangible, practical, self-sacrificing example as it pours out to one another within the body of Christ. The Christian life is not a lone-wolf worldview. You need fellowship, leadership, accountability, and community, whether you realize it or not. In all of the church’s beauty and brokenness, it is still Christ’s. And if you have found life in Christ, you need to be part of it.

Huff concluded, “My life outside of the internet is probably as full as it could possibly be. But amidst all of that, God is good.” This is the case, he said, whether he’s speaking to thousands of people, completing a “dream project” for work, or “sitting in a hospital room holding my wife’s hand, scared that my daughter isn’t going to make it. God is good.”
