“I can’t believe that God is doing this right now in real time,” he added. “I explained this in a video, but I did this 30-day journal, and I felt like God was saying, hey, I want you to document everything in real time. That’s what’s happening. And now you’re my brother, and only God can do that.”

Frank concluded with an encouragement to his followers: “Let’s reach out to each other directly. Your worst enemy could be your best friend in one phone call you.”

Cory Asbury Responds by Adding Another Verse to ‘Misunderstood’

The following day, Asbury responded:

2 friends are just 1 call away. Honestly feels like I’ve lived a year’s worth of wisdom in just a few days. I’ll still be my weird/wild self on here (can’t help it), but maybe with a bit more discernment…I see now how some of my old posts could land wrong. I’ve always been a challenger and a button-pusher, but I own the mistakes. What I love most is watching how God can take even this and spark a bigger, better conversation.

Reacting to Frank’s video, Asbury said, “Dang, I feel the same, man. Thank you for your kindness leading the way on this. Man, um, you said something right there at the end—a brother just one phone call away. I wonder if there’s something to that.”

Asbury then picked up his guitar and began to sing another verse he wrote for “Misunderstood:”

Sometimes two friends are just one call away. Years full of hurt can be healed in a day. Because we’re all part of one family, so who am I to chop down a family tree? ‘Cause it’s okay if you feel misunderstood. There’s a man who did as well when they nailed him to wood. Even through all the pain, still he forgave them. So I can forgive somebody too.
