I think we men have a hard time embracing our identity in Christ. It has taken me years to understand that my perspective on life and even my view of myself affects me.

You might wonder, given all the Baptist church has witnessed regarding sexual abuse scandals and cover-ups, political fear-mongering and backbiting, why I'm still Baptist.

Are you prepared with your time, energy, money, and gifts to follow Jesus, share Jesus, and worship Jesus as part of His church? Are you prepared to live in the culture and world you see taking shape in front of you today?

I hate to admit this, but pastors are prone to manipulation in the church, whether by being the cause or the subject of it. Neither scenario is acceptable or biblical, and both are avoidable.

Do you want to be successful as a leader? Of course, anyone who leads has this as a goal. There are some leadership missteps which can limit your potential to lead well. 

The deceased churches had numerous conflicts and, often, church splits. With each new conflict, the church declined. Guests stopped coming to the divided church. When the pandemic came, those who remained were too weary to keep the ministry of the church going.

I have noticed that something is missing when ministry leaders talk about the resurrection.

Most of the pastors I know dropped old habits that no longer work like they used to. If life during lockdown forced you to drop some bad habits, don’t pick them back up after the pandemic is over.
