busyness

You don’t have to wait until your deathbed to realize how important your family is. One father whose children were grown and out of the house looked back and made this statement:

Think about it, we can get in the rut of doing nothing but responding to hours of emails every day. It can rob us of our sermon prep time, our staff nurture time and all around productivity.

It's easy to get caught up being busy all the time. But to fall into the trap of perpetual busyness is to confuse the God of the Bible with the god of this world. They are not the same.

The idol of busyness is one Christians are particularly bent toward worshipping, and busyness can also become the shield we use to protect ourselves from adding unwanted appointments to our calendars.
