Desire

What if I told you that both your deepest desire and your greatest fear will both come upon you? That’s what Proverbs 10:24 seems to be saying.

Our longing to gather with our brothers and sisters in Christ is a gracious reminder that we belong to Him. He has given us this longing. The tears are reminders that His mercy has changed us.

The ancient church sorted through the Trinitarian debate by clarifying the distinction between "essence" and "person." Likewise, the Reformation haggled over the proper meaning of "righteousness" and "justification." And today we need to distinguish between desire and temptation.

Unfortunately, we typically defer to the age-old cop out in response to any sexual question—because God said so.
