"Rich Men" singer Oliver Anthony is making music history by being the first artist ever to have a single debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 despite the artist having no prior appearance on any chart.

Oliver Anthony, whose blue-collar country ballad “Rich Men North of Richmond” skyrocketed to the top of the country music charts, formally introduced himself to listeners on Facebook on Aug. 17.

Oliver Anthony's song, titled “Rich Men North of Richmond,” immediately went viral, prompting both praise and criticism. To date, a video of the song has over 12.5 million views.
