On Friday (July 8), President Joe Biden signed an executive order protecting access to abortion and contraception. The executive order comes two weeks after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

Since a Supreme Court draft opinion leaked, conversation has exploded across both sides of the abortion issue, with pro-life advocates cautiously celebrating and pro-choice advocates scrambling to respond.

The White House announced Friday morning (Feb. 25) President Biden’s historic nomination of federal appeals court judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The U.S. Senate voted 85-5 in a Dec. 16 confirmation vote for Rashad Hussain, who had been nominated in late July by President Biden. Hussain became the first Muslim to hold the position since it was created in 1998 as part of the International Religious Freedom Act.
