The Rev. Patrick Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition, has been denied permission to lead a prayer vigil at the U.S. Capitol tomorrow, the 20th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Pastor Jim Cusick, his son and church official Casey Cusick, and church member David Lesperance, were charged in federal court with entering restricted grounds, disorderly conduct, and violent entry of the Capitol building.

Senator Ted Cruz started off the D.C. Bible Reading Marathon saying, "Now more than ever we turn toward the Word of God to light our way."

"For 70 years, there has been a public witness on the National Day of Prayer at the U.S. Capitol Building," says Rev. Patrick Mahoney. "Until today! Our request to have prayer service was denied."

More than 500 pastors and ministry leaders of diverse theological backgrounds have signed an open letter condemning Christian nationalism as a “perversion of the Christian faith.”

The riots at the U.S. Capitol building were not the result of antifa or any other type of conspiracy, says Dr. Russell Moore, who warned Christians against what the Bible calls an “unhealthy craving for controversy.”
