David and Goliath Activities (cont.)

6. David’s Playlist

Objective: Connect Scripture to personal expression.

David, who was musically talented, wrote many of the Psalms. Have students create a playlist that reflects David’s journey from shepherd to giant-slayer. Discuss how music expresses emotions. End by letting teenswrite their own psalms of praise to God.

Deeper Reflection and Application

After a David and Goliath activity, use the discussion prompts below. That helps teens process and apply what they learn.

  • What giants are you facing? Encourage honesty and safe sharing. Emphasize that no challenge is too big for God.
  • Have you ever felt overlooked or underestimated? How did you respond? Discuss how God sees beyond our circumstances. He uses us in ways we might not expect.
  • What does it mean to trust God instead of worldly armor (popularity, looks, achievements)? Talk about worldly success vs. spiritual faithfulness.
  • How can you help others face giants with faith? Remind teens to support their peers.

Living Like David

David and Goliath isn’t just about a boy defeating a giant. It’s about the power of faith and courage amid huge odds. Remind teens that only their relationship with God defines them. Age, appearance, and societal expectations don’t matter.

Help teens see themselves in David as they step forward in faith. With God, even the biggest giants don’t stand a chance!
