7. Digital Storytelling
Have students record short video testimonies ahead of time. Then play them during the service. This is especially helpful for kids who are nervous about speaking live.
8. Testimony + Worship Flow
Interweave testimonies with songs that relate to each story. For example, if someone talks about God’s faithfulness, follow their story with “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.”
9. Mystery Testimony Night
Announce that students will hear stories from unexpected guests. Invite adults from the congregation who were once in youth group themselves to share how God has worked through the decades.
10. Before and After Testimonies
Encourage students to share one snapshot of life before following Jesus and one snapshot after, focusing on specific changes rather than a long biography.
11. Story Starter Cards
Before the night begins, hand out cards with open-ended prompts:
- “A moment when I felt far from God was…”
- “One time I saw God answer prayer was…”
- “If I could tell my younger self one truth about God, it would be…”
These can warm students up to sharing more honestly.
12. Follow-Up Small Groups
After testimonies, break into small groups where teens can react, ask questions, and share related experiences. Use leaders to model transparency and keep the conversation safe.
