5. The church is still central to belonging
Programs help. Youth groups help. Events help.
But belonging happens when teens see themselves as part of the body of Christ, not just attendees.
Intergenerational relationships matter. Serving matters. Worshiping alongside adults matters. Feeling known matters.
Faith becomes durable when it’s lived in community, not just talked about at home.
Parents often assume their teen is pulling away.
In reality, most are asking a deeper question:
“Where is my place in this world?”
That question hasn’t changed for generations. It won’t change for the next ones either.
The opportunity in front of parents is not just to protect their kids.
It’s to help them root their belonging in Christ, in family, and in a community that will still hold when everything else shifts.
