Do you oversee a multisite children’s ministry? If so, I’d love some feedback on running one. Who here oversees a portable version of kids ministry? What’s on your die-hard “Don’t Do!” list? Next, what’s on your “Do Do!” list? (Yes, I said do-do.)
Here’s why I’m asking… Soon our church will launch its third multisite location. This one will be a completely portable environment.
A Portable Multisite Children’s Ministry
So far, we are working with these conditions at the new location:
- We have 6 dedicated rooms for kids ministry, from nursery to 5th grade.
- The space has one male and one female multi-stall restroom for the entire church (but no dedicated kids restroom).
- So far, the kids areas has no sink or plumbing.
- Although we have some on-site storage, the size of that space is not yet defined.
- At the new location, we operate on Sundays only. That means we set up and tear down everything on the same day.
In the past, I’ve done portable multisite children’s ministry and learned a great deal. But it’s been many years since my last rodeo, and many things have changed since then.
