There is a misnomer in church planting, and it’s this: inner-city church planting is just a subset of the broader church planting movement.

Divisive issues like racial tensions, gender inequality, political messiness, economic injustice, homelessness, broken families, poverty, and war can be opportunities for us to begin gospel conversations. 

According to recent estimates, African Americans comprise as few as 1 percent of international missionaries

For the sake of the gospel, it's critical that we send more missionaries of color because race matters. But I only know one black missionary serving on the field today. Just one.
