Our Puritan brothers and sisters in Christ wrestled with God through hard times, and the fruit of their labour can help us through the hard times we face. Sometimes the language and emphases of the past seem strange to us.

 Reaching people begins by praying specifically for them. Pray for opportunities to re-engage with them in organic ways, such as parties, outtings, meals at restaurants, local ministry days in your community, and more.

In seasonal lore, Saint Nicholas is the historical inspiration for what we commonly think of as Santa Claus. No, he didn’t really have reindeer and deliver presents. But he was someone who cared about those in need including children.

We’re in-between life as we knew it and something different. I believe “normal” will be different after this passes too. While we’re in-between, what if God desires to prepare us for something different. Something He’s about to do?

More and more leaders quietly express a sense of life being out of control. I think at some level, we all understand what that means; it’s what we do with that thought or feeling that matters.
