"If the day has come to send them to college—do it with joy!"

God doesn’t just understand and sympathize, he also acts to support anxious teens. How does he do this? He does it by listening and by speaking.

But I recognize I was a bit of an arrogant know-it-all who thought he had a lot of offer. Now as a parent of a teenager, I fully recognize how much I have to learn. Here’s a few of the thoughts I had from back then that were pretty stupid.

Establish the culture of loving God and loving others in all areas of life, including social media, so that even when you are not there, your kids will be able to approach technology of godly, responsible ways.

When Millennial parents have stopped attending services, it means in all likelihood their Gen Z children are not either. Our kids will look back one day and remember how we handled this crisis.  Let's leave a legacy of faith and trust in God.

Protect your summer vacation. Don’t waste it by taking it for granted. Plan it out, communicate that you are unavailable, and rest away.

One of the leadership axioms I adhere to is that leaders cannot take people further than they are themselves. In order for teens to consistently grow in their faith, ask them to establish spiritual goals.
