TD Jakes Recently Left Worship To Visit Doctors
While Pastor Touré Roberts was preaching last Sunday (Oct. 5) at The Potter’s House, T.D. Jakes was rushed to the back of the church, where an ambulance had arrived. According to a church spokesperson, Jakes had a non-emergency incident and, after a “brief visit with his doctors,” was able to join his family for dinner.
Jakes had left worship “for monitoring and rest as a responsible next step,” according to the spokesperson. The church thanked people for their prayers and assured them the incident was “not a cause for concern.”
In July, Jakes handed over senior leadership of The Potter’s House to daughter Sarah Jakes Roberts and her husband, Touré Roberts.
Jakes, 68, has said last November’s health scare was a “massive heart attack” that almost killed him. While announcing his retirement in April, he said, “I’ve seen too many men build something and stay so long, that they kill what they build.”
