Dove Award-winning singer Forrest Frank recently posted a brand new song for his social media followers to hear. But unlike his usual sounding “Lemonade” style, this song was extremely emotional, and Frank found it difficult to finish singing.

The “Good Day” singer shared that he wrote the song over a year ago after struggling to process the “whirlwind of success.”

“A year later and i’m still struggling,” Frank posted on Instagram. “I have so much to learn and have so many thoughts…but for now I’ll let the song speak for itself. Feels like the right time to share it with y’all.”

Frank’s post comes just days after he shared why he wouldn’t be attending any future award shows. In that post, Frank said:

I’m convicted, personally, that a line that I can draw is that I will not receive a trophy for something that is from Jesus and for Jesus, and I was wrestling with this last year. I even said that on stage at the Dove Awards. I said, “I’m still struggling with the concept of receiving this award, but all glory to Jesus. Every name will fade away, including mine, except for one name.” But I feel a conviction to go even a step further and say, “I don’t know if I even want to step on the stage—I don’t know if I want to step in the room.” So I have decided to take a stance of non-participation. I will not be attending the Doves or the Grammys. I hope to be an example to the youth that the trophy is our salvation. The trophy is that my name is listed in the Book of Life, and I get to have eternal life. What good is a piece of metal going to do compared to that?

While many artists shared their appreciation for Frank’s openness, some, like “Hard Fought Hallelujah” singer, Jelly Roll, questioned how accepting an award for making Jesus music is different than profiting monetarily from it.

Hours after sharing his convictions, Frank received three awards at the 56th Annual Dove Awards, including Artist of the Year. Earlier this year, Frank’s Child of God Tour Part II sold out every show. The year prior, Frank won the Dove Award for New Artist of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for his song “Good Day.”

Frank’s new song reflects on the struggle of wanting to give God all the glory despite receiving worldly accolades. Toward the end of his song, Frank got emotional and had to pause before finishing. The following are his lyrics:

Mom said, “Looks like you made it.
You’re the talk of the town and you may never come down.”
All the songs you’ve been making helping people to change.
While I’m grateful for every thank you,
I get let me set one thing straight.

I don’t want an award.
I don’t want my name lifted high.
All the glory’s yours. I just want you Lord.

You told me sign on the line,
we’ll put your song on the air
and it’ll be everywhere.
We can make you a star
cause numbers tell us you are
and while I’m grateful for every offer I get
let me set one thing straight.

I don’t want an award.
I don’t want my name lifted high.
All the glory’s yours. I just want you Lord.

They put his back on a cross.
They nailed his hands to the side
until he hung there and died.
Took the weight of my sin
even before I knew him.
So while I’m grateful for every blessing I get,
let me set one thing straight.

He’s the only award.
He’s the only name lifted high.
All the glory’s yours. I just want you, Lord.
