Carrie Underwood Becomes Highest RIAA-Certified Female Country Artist of All Time

Earlier this year, “American Idol” aired an Easter special that featured three hours of worship music with performances by Carrie Underwood, artist-in-residence Jelly Roll, and special guests Brandon Lake and CeCe Winans. Underwood’s fellow judge Luke Bryan has suggested that Underwood’s influence had something to do with how many contestants performed Christian songs that season.

Those celebrating the RIAA milestone with Underwood included “American Idol,” which congratulated her on Instagram, saying, “We’re blown away! Queen Carrie 👑.” The GMA Dove Awards did so as well, commenting, “Congratulations Carrie! We ❤️ you!🫶🏻🥳.”
