“Used in every country around the world, the YouVersion Family of Apps also sees one billion app opens every 39 days,” the announcement continued, “highlighting the growing engagement of its global user base.”
YouVersion has partnered this month with other ministries, including Hallow and The Bible Project, in an initiative called Global Bible Month. The campaign includes a 30-day Bible challenge.
“We’re seeing incredible global momentum around Bible engagement, and it’s humbling to be part of what’s happening,” said Gruenewald. “Every day we hear stories of lives being changed—someone overcoming addiction, marriages being restored, people encountering Scripture in their own language for the first time.”
“This milestone is really a celebration of the Bible itself,” he added, “and what happens when people around the world work together to get it into the hands and hearts of more people.”
Monday evening, YouVersion Bible app users are invited to join a livestream titled “Beyond a Billion,” which is “a historic event celebrating the Bible through worship and storytelling.” Featured speakers and artists include Craig Groeschel, CeCe Winans, Lauren Daigle, Christine Caine, Phil Wickham, Brooke Ligertwood, and Matt Redman.
The event will start at 6:30 p.m. CST.
