For the second year in a row, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy used the NFL’s “My Cause My Cleats” initiative to highlight the humanitarian work of Samaritan’s Purse. During his game against Carolina on Monday night (Nov. 24), the fourth-year QB wore shoes bearing the Christian organization’s name and website address.

Through “My Cause My Cleats,” athletes, coaches, and team staff can wear custom-designed shoes featuring the logo of a favorite cause or charity. Later, fans can bid on the cleats, with proceeds benefiting the respective organizations.

Franklin Graham Thanks Brock Purdy for Support

Last year, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy used “My Cause My Cleats” to raise money for the hurricane-recovery efforts of Samaritan’s Purse. This year, he emphasized the importance of providing hope to people facing all types of disasters. Toyota supported Purdy’s efforts.

“This is important because there are so many people who go through natural disasters in our own country,” Purdy said in a video posted to social media. “And to have a program that goes out and helps people and gives people hope I think is crucial.” The 25-year-old QB added, “I love the people of our country, and any way we can help out in that regard means a lot to me.”

Evangelist Franklin Graham, president and CEO of Samaritan’s Purse, thanked Purdy for his ongoing support. Ahead of Monday night’s football matchup, Graham posted, “I hope @Brock.Purdy13 does well in the game tonight—love to watch him play! We are grateful that Brock chose to highlight the work of @SamaritansPurse in the 2025 #MyCauseMyCleats initiative. Watch for these cleats tonight!”
