On Wednesday, Nov. 19, award-winning Christian artist Forrest Frank took to social media to make sure people knew that a Christian artist who is charting on iTunes right now is not human.
“I love progress and tools, but this one doesn’t sit right,” Frank wrote in the caption next to his Instagram video. “The No. 1 album right now for Christian music on iTunes, and the number two top singles over Elevation, Brandon Lake, whoever, is AI.”
Frank said that he hates to bring attention to this, but he wanted to warn his social media followers that the Christian artist, Solomon Ray, is not a real person but instead is AI.
Frank said, “I want to just let you guys know this is out there, and I think it’s important that we just pause a little bit and kind of ask the questions of like, is this something that we want?”

“At minimum, AI does not have the Holy Spirit inside of it,” Frank continued. “So I think that’s really weird to be opening up your spirit to something that has no Spirit.”
Frank then asked, “So what are we doing about this? Are we are we rejecting this? Are we championing this?”
The Grammy-nominated artist told his fans he would “not be listening to this.” Frank shared, “I already don’t listen to secular music, and I’m sure not gonna be listening to AI Christian music.”
“American Idol” alum and chart-topping Christian artist Colton Dixon shared his thoughts in the comments of Frank’s post.
“I’m honestly still wrestling with the whole AI music thing,” he said. “Can it be a tool to speed up a rather long tedious process—yes. But can it also be used as a crutch instead of finding inspiration and direction from Holy Spirit—also yes.”
