Fox Said All Actors Cooperated Fully
When asked about the repurposed voicework, a spokesperson for Fox said, “Gulfstream Studios produced ‘The Life of Jesus Podcast’ from ‘The Truth and Life Dramatized Audio Bible,’ which was licensed by FOX News Audio, with full cooperation and participation by all the actors involved.”

But Rolling Stone obtained a note in which a podcast producer asked at least one actor to “not mention that this audio New Testament Bible was produced years ago.” The note added, “We’d like it to feel like something that was produced more recently.”
Variety, which broke the news about the podcast, said Fox is trying to compete with other faith-related streaming. Jason Klarman, chief digital and marketing director at Fox News Media, said, “I think there is an insatiable appetite among a very passionate audience that is underserved.”
Matti Leshem, who created the Fox Nation docuseries “Saints,” said viewers want inspiration in this “fractured, divided world.” His show appeals to people because it’s “very hard-hitting [and] dramatic,” he said. “There’s nothing very Sunday school about it at all.”
