Brock Purdy Finds Time To Give Back
The community outreach efforts of 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy come at the busiest, most high-stakes part of the NFL schedule. His team, now 12-4, is fighting for the NFC West title, as well as for the NFC’s top playoff seed.
Sunday night (Dec. 28), Purdy led his team to a thrilling 42-38 home victory against the Chicago Bears. Despite throwing a pick-six on the game’s first play, the QB rebounded with 303 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and two rushing touchdowns.
“He’s playing as good as it gets right now,” 49ers Coach Kyle Shanahan said of Purdy, who was sidelined for eight games this season with a toe injury.
Right tackle Colton McKivitz agreed, saying, “To have a leader like that go and command the huddle and playing at that level, it’s a great confidence-builder for us.”

Purdy, the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, already has led San Francisco to two NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl appearance. In a quest to play February’s Super Bowl LX in their home stadium, the 49ers next play division rival Seattle.
On Christmas Eve, Purdy’s wife, Jenna, posted a family photo with baby daughter Millie. “Best time of the year,” the caption read. “Merry Christmas from the Purdys.”
