For the past two years, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has given new vehicles to the offensive linemen who protect him on the field. This Christmas, the fourth-year NFL star presented new vehicles to military veterans and families whose children are sick or have disabilities.
Amid the end-of-season playoff race, Purdy partnered with Toyota to surprise nine families who are “going through some tough times.” They received goody bags filled with game tickets, custom jerseys, and signed footballs.

Purdy told the veterans and families that he appreciates “what you guys have done and what you guys stand for.” He added, “We look up to you just for your fight and your courage.” When the QB led the fans outside, white vehicles with giant red bows were waiting for them.
Brock Purdy: ‘We Just Wanted To Help You All Out’
Brock Purdy, who turned 26 on Saturday (Dec. 27), is known for being vocal about his Christian faith. The Iowa State grad, a husband and new father, regularly glorifies God during interviews.
Purdy recently wore cleats in support of Samaritan’s Purse, the humanitarian organization led by Franklin Graham. He also was one of dozens of NFL players who signed a letter demanding that the United States provide security, sanctions, and aid in Nigeria, where Christians are being persecuted.
While presenting the early Christmas gifts, Purdy told the vets and families, “We just wanted to help you all out as best we could.” He added that Toyota will make the vehicles accessible for each recipient.
In a video posted to social media, awe and gratitude abounded. “I didn’t know what to expect,” said a veteran who served three military deployments. “The surprises kept on going and going.”
A mother whose daughter has special needs said it was difficult to find words to convey her appreciation. “It’s truly been a life-changing experience,” she said of the surprise.
Purdy hugged and interacted with the families, chatting with young people in wheelchairs. “You guys are a huge motivation and encouragement,” said the QB. “I look up to you, for sure.”
