“This is just a resource to help adults know where to begin to have those conversations, but it’s also a resource that I think students can read themselves,” Pruitt explained.

“You Can’t Talk About That” will help students “know what to think, what to believe, but also have these conversations with their peers in their own generation as well,” he said.

Pruitt encouraged church leaders not to shy away from addressing these topics with younger generations.

“They want to have these conversations,” he said. “And here’s what I promise you, is if they have questions and as the church, we’re refusing to answer those questions, they will go get answers somewhere else.”

“And we’re not going to like where they go get answers, and we’re not going to like the answers they find,” said Pruitt.

“I would rather students look towards the Gospels for answers instead of the Grammys for answers,” Pruitt commented. “You know what I mean?”
