“The Bible Recap” (TBR), a podcast hosted by Tara-Leigh Cobble, has made Apple’s Top 10 in all categories for the third year in a row. A press release Jan. 19 also announced that “TBR” had been in Apple’s Top 5 most popular podcasts during each week of January this year up to that point.
“The continued growth of The Bible Recap Podcast audience reminds us that people are hungry for God’s Word and spiritual growth,” Cobble said. “My favorite thing in the world is helping people around the world read, love, and understand the Bible.”

‘The Bible Recap’ Continues To Grow
“The Bible Recap” is a short, daily podcast that follows a chronological Bible reading plan. Cobble launched “TBR” in 2019. Users read the Bible passage of the day and then listen to the corresponding podcast episode, in which Cobble summarizes key points from the passage and shares insights into what it reveals about the nature of God.
In a 2024 statement to ChurchLeaders after “TBR” achieved the milestone of being the No. 1 show in all categories on Apple Podcasts, Cobble said, “When I started this project in 2019, I prayed that it would reach 300 people. But God has grown it into something far greater than I could ever imagine!”
“I’m so encouraged and grateful, because every single number represents a person who wants to know God better through reading His Word!” she added. “And I believe The Bible Recap can help them do that!”
According to the press release, “TBR” has reached half a billion downloads since its launch. The show’s YouTube channel has gained over 30 million views, and Cobble has expanded on the project in a variety of ways, including publishing “TBR” as a book in 2023. This year, she launched “The Bible Recap Podcast for Kids,” hosted by Emily Pickell, which debuted in the No. 1 spot on Apple Podcasts in Kids & Family.
