When Watson was growing up, he read the testimonies of players such as Reggie White and Kurt Warner in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Bible.

“That’s how we were able to see [players’ testimonies]. But now you can look at your phone on social media or see an interview and you just see it more often,” he said. “So there’s always been believers in sport. No matter what sector you work in, God always has folks in it.”

Waston added, “What people don’t respect is when you wear your faith like a good luck charm and you’re not really trying to live for the Lord.”

“You just say you are,” he said, “because that’s just kind of what you do and it’s kind of like a habit that you have or maybe something that you think gives you good luck.”

Watch the full interview and hear Watson explain how partnerships like Sports Spectrum and Compassion International are working together in advancing God’s kingdom.
