“I think God’s always wanted to unify the church. We’re the ones getting in the way of that. It’s like people care so much,” she said. “You dunk when you baptize. You sprinkle when you baptize or you pray in tongues and you don’t pray in tongues or whatever it is. And it’s like God’s just been waiting on us to put our pride aside.”
She added, “I want to commend Bryce and my grandfather both for showing up to the table knowing that they were not going to agree on everything. That is how we see a unified church at the end.”
“Shame” on those attacking Crawford for “simply doing the interview,” she said.
“Bryce’s whole posture was, ‘I know I’m not going to agree on everything he has to say, but I want to have a respectful conversation and hear his perspective.’ When we stop doing that,” she said, “that is when we get a divided world. Not just a divided church, but a divided world.”
“I think that this is a huge win for the kingdom, just for people to simply be able to sit down at the table [and] have conversations—they don’t agree with everyone—and just move forward,” Acuña concluded.
