“People think that we’re just stacking everyone’s cash that they’re donating to the ministry,” she said. “Ninety-five percent of everything we do is free. Every event is free. You can get [the] majority of our content for free. Books, online education, our TV show—we own a TV network that we don’t charge other ministers to be on.”
So, she said, “It’s really funny that people want to say we’re trying to like steal everyone’s money when literally everything we do is free.”
Acuña also pushed back on claims about Copeland’s personal wealth.
“There’s this common misconception about how much my grandfather’s worth online,” she said. “My grandfather brings that up in the interview. I wish my grandfather was worth $750 million. You know how much easier our lives would be out here if that were the case? It’s not the case at all.”
“I don’t know where these numbers came from. I don’t know where these valuations came from. They’re so inaccurate. If people knew what everything was worth out here, they would be bored,” she added.
“Honestly, if God didn’t want what we were doing to keep going, he would not be providing the resources for us to keep doing what we were doing,” she said. “And that’s our stance on all of this; we’re going to keep moving forward. We’re going to keep trying to get the word out. Money will come in. That’s on God. It’s not on us. We don’t ask for money.”
Acuña said KCM believes in the biblical principle of sowing and reaping.
“If you give love, you’ll get love back. If you give hate, you’ll get hate back. If you give time, you’ll get time back. If you give money, you’ll get money back,” she said.
“We believe in the prosperity principle,” she added. “It’s like gravity. If you drop it, it falls. That’s how we believe about sowing and reaping in every area of your life, not just finances.”
The interview concluded with Acuña discussing unity within the church.
