Tucker Carlson concluded:
The seed doesn’t produce the tree until it dies. And so the death of…the institutions within the evangelical movement, American Protestant Christianity, are going away. But they will be replaced by something better and purer, more true to itself, constructive, unifying, healing institutions that build and don’t just destroy. That’s going to happen. And God willing, we will live to see it. So rejoice in that, as sad as this is, and happy Easter.
When ChurchLeaders contacted Franklin Graham about Carlson’s comments, Graham provided this statement:
This couldn’t be further from the truth. In my prayer, I thanked God for stopping evil and preventing the murder of innocent civilians. When I shared the Biblical story from the Book of Esther, I recounted how Scripture tells us that the Persians wanted to kill every Jewish man, woman, and child, and how God used Queen Esther to save the Jewish people.
In my prayer, I thanked God for once again saving the Jewish people, this time from the Islamic Republic of Iran, which wants to destroy every Jew in Israel. I also prayed for the people of Iran who want freedom. President Trump is trying to protect the world from a very serious nuclear threat and give the people of Iran who have been butchered and oppressed by their own government a chance at freedom. This is a very turbulent time in our history, and we need to pray for a quick and peaceful end to this war.
