“Joni’s love for the Lord and for the people we serve shaped this ministry from the beginning,” the board said. “We grieve her loss, and we are grateful for the legacy of faith she leaves behind.”
Lamb’s family has asked for prayers and privacy, the statement said, explaining that information about a memorial service will be forthcoming.
“Daystar’s mission does not change today. Previously, Lamb worked with the board to ensure an executive leadership team was in place so that the ministry would continue uninterrupted,” Daystar said. “Programming will proceed as scheduled, with on-air tributes to follow in the coming days.”
In 2024, Daystar and Lamb were accused by Lamb’s son, Jonathan Lamb, and his wife, Suzy Lamb, of covering up the abuse of Jonathan and Suzy’s daughter when their daughter was 5. Lamb denied the allegations and no charges were ever filed.
