“I said, ‘Son, you got to get to a place where you figure some of this out. You got to move forward. You got to make some decisions that are going to better your life,’” Locke recounted.
Four minutes later, Evan replied. Locke shared, “Which before this time, four minutes was nothing to me, four minutes seems like a year. Grief slows time down.”
“Dad, I have no clue what to do right now,” Evan texted in reference to whether he should go.
“Last message. That’s it,” Locke said. “And using the text, I want to take a few minutes and preach on this: What to do when you don’t know what to do?”
As he concluded his sermon, Locke said, “What the death of Charlie Kirk did for the nation, the death of my son will do for this church. I believe it. To God be the glory.”
Evan’s celebration of life service will be held at Global Vision Bible Church on May 13.
