The immediate focus for him and his congregation, he said, is a “resolve” to build “a healthier, wiser, holier, more faithful-to-the-Gospel and more gracious church.” Crist told worshipers he’s committed to “do a lot of soul work” in the days ahead.
Calling himself “a global apostolic leader,” Crist indicated he wouldn’t “shrink back from that mandate on my life to lead not just our church but the Church in general in our generation.” Of the Church, he added, “We have to get it right” because so much is at stake. The Church body fails, he said, when it has less transparency than secular corporations and lower standards of accountability than secular boards and employees.
On the Hillsong Phoenix Facebook page, two posts the church has made since Sunday both refer to “the best that is still to come!”
