During Thursday’s address to the nation, President Biden recounted the toll of recent mass shootings and called for stricter gun laws, including red-flag laws and bans on assault rifles and large-capacity magazines. Other option is raising the legal age to purchase an assault rifle to 21.

Biden also acknowledged that America has a “serious mental health crisis.” And he assured “lawful gun owners” that he’s not out to vilify them or take away their weapons.
