Upon his retirement, Allen said he is grateful for his time at the seminary. “I shall always cherish the countless special friendships and relationships forged over the years,” he said.
“Including my three years as a student from 1978 to 1981, I have spent half of my life in service to the King at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.”
Allen will continue to oversee doctoral students at the seminary, according to their statement.
