When asked how we can inspire young people to pursue being entrepreneurs instead of growing up to be Communists, Schnatter said that people need to “recognize what we’re up against…We need to raise ourselves to a higher level of a vibration, a higher level of consciousness, like Ghandi did, like Christ did, Buddha, Mother Theresa. We need to fight hatred, guilt, anger, jealousy with joy, kindness and love and thoughtfulness.”
As the interviewer responded, “Amen,” Schnatter continued, “I have friends that are liberals. They think like buffoons.” He went on to explain, “They’re stupid cause they’re angry.” Schnatter emphasized the need for kindness over hate and again the need for a higher level of awareness, “a greater energy field…like Reagan had, and then we’ll fix America. We’ll make it that shining city on a hill.”
