The family’s Instagram post shared a recent photo of the comedian walking with the assistance of a walker and physical therapist and said, “Sinbad appreciates all the love and support you have shown him over the last two years. Many of you have asked for updates and if there is anything Sinbad needs or what you can do to help. As a result, the family has created a site where you can keep up to date with his progress and also provide an avenue for those who wish to give.” They ended the post with one of Sinbad’s sayings, “Stay funky, stay blessed.”
The actor, who grew up as a pastor’s kid with five other siblings, has been recommended by Christian streaming platform Pure Flix as a Christian comedian families should watch if they want to “laugh right now.” The faith-based streaming company credits Sinbad’s upbringing for his clean comedy routines.
Five years ago, Sinbad created an exclusive event for Pure Flix titled “The Pure Flix Comedy All Stars” that was recorded in front of a live audience. Sinbad describes the special as “Good, clean fun you can watch with the whole family.”
This isn’t the first miracle he’s seen God perform in his life. After being married to his wife Meredith for seven years they divorced in 1992. In 2002 they remarried and have been married ever since.
With all that has happened to him, Sinbad is still thanking God and encouraging others to do the same. “Thank God for everything He’s given you, even if it’s not everything you asked for,” Sinbad said on The Journey Forward website. “Thank God for family and hug the ones you love while you’re still with them. We need each other to get through this journey. I can’t wait to see you all again soon. As always, stay funky, stay prayed up.”
