‘The Community Showed Up in Record Numbers,’ Cameron Tells Fox News

“Yesterday told the whole story in Indianapolis.” Cameron shared on Fox News’ America’s Newsroom Friday morning. “The community showed up in record numbers. More people showed up for this book reading than any other event in the 137 year history of the library.”

A spokesperson from the Scarsdale Public Library has maintained that there wasn’t a “reversal” on the decision to host Cameron’s children’s book reading, saying, “The event is not a library-sponsored program, but rather a meeting room rental, that cannot be rejected based upon political or religious content under the First Amendment.”

The email Brave Books sent to the Scarsdale Public Library didn’t request for the library to sponsor the event but rather asked to “schedule a story hour for Mr. Cameron’s book where we read ‘As You Grow’ and speak to families about following the wisdom of the Bible, as well as discussing the harmful effects of woke ideologies, specifically CRT and the transgender agenda.”

“They are sponsoring and paying for and promoting ‘Drag Queen Story Hour’ for children but we don’t even get a mention on the website calendar,” Brave Books said. “If you go to the website you won’t see it. They do tell you that there is a ‘Play-Doh Playdate’ but in Scarsdale today we will be there and we expect record numbers.”

Like the Indianapolis Public Library, the Scarsdale Public Library also hosted a “Drag Queen Story Hour” in June. The library promoted the event to children as young as 2-years-old and said that children over the age of 10 could be left at the story hour unattended.

Cameron told Fox News that the people in Indianapolis who were waiting outside asked how they could “support this movement,” even though they were unable to get into the reading. He explained, “This isn’t about ‘woke libraries.’”

Quoting one of America’s founding father, Samuel Adams, Cameron said, “[Adams] understood an oppressive government destroying morals of children saying, ‘It does not take a majority to prevail but rather an irate tireless minority keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men,’ and yesterday in Indianapolis a brushfire of faith, family, and freedom was ignited. It’s not spread to Scarsdale New York and it’s moving across the country uncontained. I’m so thrilled.”

Cameron will be reading his book at the library located at 54 Olmsted Road in Scarsdale, New York, on Friday, December 30 at 3 P.M.

Cameron’s Message to the Church in America

After Cameron’s reading, ChurchLeaders asked why he believes pastors aren’t standing up for biblical truth.

“I know there are many pastors who are standing up for Biblical truth in our nation,” Cameron shared. “However, I believe we need to take it to the next level. We must put feet to our faith and  return to speaking up in the public square, instead of merely preaching the truth within the church walls. That’s why I’m asking for pastors across our nation to join me to host a story hour at their local library.”

Cameron then warned about what he believes could happen if Christians and church leaders don’t start to “speak up for biblical truth in a day and age where an over-sexualized culture is attempting to influence our children.”

“The Bible says that we should train up our children in the way they should go. If Christian parents and church leaders do not take this responsibility seriously, others (think Instagram, public schools, etc) will raise our kids for us,” Cameron shared.

“It’s been said, ‘The Left doesn’t have kids, they just raise yours.’ And we pay them to do it! We must stop surrendering our children’s futures and return to protecting them, speaking the uncensored truth, and standing against evil in our homes and in the public square. The land of the free depends on the homes of the brave,” Cameron said.
