Bassett added, “I have also first hand encountered Jesus twice. The experience’s [sic] were richer and more vivid than anything in my entire life. I look forward to speaking about it soon. For those concerned about me be sure of this: I’m better than I have ever been. The peace I feel is far beyond what I thought possible.”
While some of the responses to Bassett have been negative, numerous people have responded by encouraging and thanking him. “God bless you and may He always be over your head,” said one user who commented on Bassett’s January tweet. “John 15:18 ‘If the world hates you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.’”
“i’m so glad you gave your life to Jesus dude!!!!!” said one of Bassett’s Instagram followers. “He’s the only way. please don’t leave Him. He loves you so much.”
“Josh!! Your recent tweet is amazing “ said another. “Jesus said people would get hate for following me! So please ignore people for what they say! its amazing for you to share that! We love you and he loves you. And us brothers and sisters in christ will always be by your side! Always!!!!”
On Bassett’s most recent TikTok video, followers said, “God bless you,” “bless u for that tweet,” and “Thank you for being BOLD and standing up for what you believe.”
