Joe Rigney To Join Faculty of Douglas Wilson’s New Saint Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho

In 2022, a former deacon of Christ Church was charged with possessing child pornography. In 2005, Wilson asked an Idaho judge for leniency after a former New Saint Andrews student pleaded guilty to child sex abuse. 

Rigney joins the faculty of New Saint Andrews after parting ways with Bethlehem College and Seminary over his evolving views on Christian nationalism and infant baptism, which put him out of alignment with Baptist theological distinctives.

At New Saint Andrews, Rigney will teach one section of “freshman theology colloquia and several other electives and single-term courses.” He will also assume a part-time position at Christ Church.

According to the announcement, Rigney and his family will move to Moscow this summer. He is set to remain at Bethlehem through the end of the school term and preside over its 2023 spring commencement ceremony.
