Christian Influencers Say ‘Shiny Happy People’ Producers Lied About Docuseries

In contrast to “Shiny Happy People,”  Morgan recommended Jinger Duggar Vuolo’s book, “Becoming Free Indeed: My Story of Disentangling Faith from Fear,” which chronicles Vuolo’s spiritual journey. Vuolo has said the book is for people who want to “honestly examine” what they believe “without abandoning God.”

Vuolo, whose sister, Jill Duggar Dillard, is featured in the docuseries, has also said that she chose not to appear in “Shiny Happy People” because she wanted to share her story in her own words. “I was actually approached and asked to participate in the docuseries,” she said, “but I thought that from my perspective, I really wanted to make sure that I was able to share my story in my own words and in my own timing.”
