Nick Vujicic’s Life-Long Calling
Vujicic was born with a rare condition—without arms or legs—and was bullied for years at school due to his handicap. Since Vujicic’s father was a pastor, he was taught about God’s love and grace at an early age. Vujicic developed a deep love for God and his people, despite his hurt and significant depression from being bullied.
He shared a time when the janitor at his high school spoke a prophecy over Vujicic. He “told me that I’m going to be a worldwide speaker to go around the world, and I literally laughed at him,” Vujicic recalled. The custodian ended up planning Vujicic’s first public speech just months later. It was at that moving event that Vujicic felt the call to become an ordained minister at the age of 19.
As part of a movement to reach the world with the gospel, Vujicic founded Life Without Limbs, a nonprofit ministry focused on evangelism. The organization states, “People need Jesus. Billions of people around the world have no idea that Christ is the answer. We’re on a mission to change that.” Life Without Limbs has a goal of reaching “one billion more people by 2028.”
Vujicic and his wife, Kanae, live in Southern California with their four children.
